Explorer 16 ( FizIV ) cruising on holidays in the Whitsunday's

Peter & Gigi have returned after taking their Explorer 16 ( FizIV ) from Melbourne to Airlie Beach to cruise the Whitsunday Islands.  Their trip is a testament that owning a trailable boat, which is light to tow, safe and comfortable for cruising, makes an Explorer 16 an ideal boat to own and enjoy.

Goulburn River Winery Cruise - 16-17th February 2013

With masts and sailing gear left at home, Explorer 16 Members took to the water on the Goulburn River to enjoy the weekend cruise to Tahbilk and Mitchelton wineries.

Lake Eppalock -

Explorer16 Association members enjoyed time together at Lake Eppalock over the "Christmas in July" Weekend.  The sun shone through a near cloudless sky and although the temperature was cold, members took to the water for some winter sailing. Unfortunately there was little breeze and the planned race never eventuated, but the chance to be on the waters of Lake Eppalock in Winter, kept everyone smiling.

Well, almost everyone....  leaving the bung plug out when launching can happen to even the most experienced sailor.

Frank.S ( the keenest sailor of them all)

At 06:30am, when most members were still warm and asleep, Frank was on his way to launch his boat taking Ray with him. The windscreen of his car had frozen and so had his boat, but this did not stop Frank who launched but was unable to step the mast as the sheet of ice on the deck had made it too dangerous.

Explorers on Lake Eildon

Delta sitting peacefully at its mooring on Lake Eildon..May 2012.
Mansfield Country Resort was an ideal location to spend a few days on Lake Eildon.

Cruising on Lake Eildon must surely be one of the next locations to put on our Explorer16 Association cruising list, a few days on the boat, exploring the wonderful views and then to return to tie up and spend a few nights in a comfortable unit.
