As Melbourne metropolitan area and Victoria are now under eased COVID-19 restrictions, the Explorer 16 Association is again planning sailing and social events, subject to prevailing restrictions. Details will be updated on this blog.

We again charge a nominal membership fee to help offset the costs of third party insurance for the Association.

You are required to have your boat privately insured if joining Association events.

We encourage new Explorer owners to fill in a membership application form, and submit together with the appropriate payment, and existing members to renew their financial membership and contact details on the renewal form. Both may be obtained from the Secretary Peter Mart who may be contacted via explorer16news@gmail.com

The Explorer 16 Victorian Championships will take place in conjunction with the Hartley TS16 Victorian Championships (separate starts). 

Three races on Saturday, two on Sunday. 

Championship Division and Cruising Division (for Explorer 16s that do not meet Class Specification, Explorer 16 Day Sailers, and Explorer 21s). 

$60 entry fee by February 12, $80 late entry.

Café open from 10am and bar open from noon both days. 

There will be a live local band from 4pm Saturday and a BBQ and dessert early on Saturday evening ($20, free for kids under 12).
